The women of Faith are an active group, called by God to assist in many ways in His church. We minister as worship assistants, Sunday school teachers, choir members, readers, musicians, nursery care providers, Council members, prayer group participants, altar guild members, small group leaders and members, youth advisors, and much more - all with the purpose of serving God and each other. We are ordinary women whom God has chosen to use in extraordinary ways. The women of Faith participate in a variety of service and social activities. All women attending Faith are welcome to join in any of our events.

Some of the activities we plan and participate in include:

Annual retreat - February 15-17, 2019,

School supply collection for the children of the ForKids homeless shelter (a shelter serving families from all over our nation with emergency, temporary, and permanent shelter),

Assist with the youth sponsored yard sale in the spring and fall,

Assist with the Red Cross blood drives in the spring and fall,

Make communion bread,

Serve meals at Oasis Ministries in Portsmouth,

Various food, toy, and clothing drives for programs throughout our community, and

Lenten Prayer Partners

2019 Women's Retreat

Women’s Retreat was great!         I have many thanks to many people. Connie Roberts, our Bible study was awesome. I’m sure you put much time, thought and love into our day’s worth of conversation, insight and inspiration.

Pastor Kaye, you nudged us just enough to make us think out of our comfort zone.   Kate Hoffstaetter and Lisa Tabor, you put together some fun and fellowship for our Saturday night. To all the cooks who put together marvelous meals for Saturday’s breakfast and lunch and, especially, Friday night’s dinner at the church, thank you!   Carol Ferguson, you headed up the cuisine for the weekend and what a job you did!

Our dear friend from Panama City Beach, Florida, Theresa Ehrich, dazzled us with her baking and relayed her city’s gratitude for the clothes we donated.   Ann Coon, Libby Stone, and Carol Ferguson, you tied the weekend up with a wonderful, heartfelt Sunday service.

I received many thanks, personally, but as you can see (and I’m very much aware), nothing this awesome is done by one person! With the help of many hands and one undeniable Holy Spirit we set off into our year and look forward to Faith Lutheran Women’s Retreat 2020!  Come join us!

Blessings!
