The mission of Faith's Outreach Ministry can be summarized with these words from Paul: "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” (Colossians 3:12)

Faith also supports other outreach activities, including Red Cross Blood Drives and the Faith Lutheran Outreach Noisy Offering to benefit financial needs within the congregation and community.

Micah's Backpack

Micah's Backpack  - Provides weekend meals for at-risk elementary school students.  Faith is currently providing meals for several children at a local elementary school during the school year.

Oasis Soup Kitchen and Food Bank

OASIS Soup Kitchen and Food Bank - As a long-standing presence in the city of Portsmouth, this church-supported organization's purpose is to help feed the body, mind, and spirit of the homeless in the community. Faith collects canned goods and serves meals to support this worthy cause. (Contact the church for our next service date.)


Lutheran World Relief’s Malaria Project - Through this charitable extension of the Lutheran Church, the LWR’s goal is to eradicate malaria deaths in Africa by 2015 through the distribution of mosquito nets and education about malaria.

Compassion International, a Christ-centered and child-focused non-profit which serves to change the story of needy children abroad through child sponsorship and correspondence between the child and his/her sponsor.
